In December of 2000, I took the vacation of a lifetime to South Africa.  Mary Morris, my girlfriend at the time, and I were invited to visit my good friends Nico & Marie.  I think they were surprised that we actually came.  They put together an itinerary better than any tour company could ever do.

 We started going the day we got there with a picnic lunch and a musical performance that was a great introduction to South Africa and their history.  We moved from Cape Town in the South  all the way to Kruger National Park in the North.  You'll see all the stops we made along the way.  This was the car we rode in.  When we started, it was a tight fit.

While moving from place to place, Nico and Marie were great to share their friends and family with us.  We met some wonderful people who I hope to keep in touch with.  Thanks especially to Anzabeth, Lorrie, Marius,Neil, Nico's family, Marie's family, and all the others we met along the way.  You truely made us feel welcome and egar to return someday.

By the time we reached Newcastle, we could hardly fit ourselves in because of all the things we picked up along the way.

The fun we shared during these three weeks make me glad to have such wonderful friends.  I will always thank God for this.  While on our journey, we heard the song Testify by Avalon several times.  This song has come to make me think of the love shown to me by Nico, Marie, Mary and the new friends I made.  Their love is a real testamony of God's love and what  true friends really are.  Click Here for a copy of the song if you want to listen.
