July 21-25, 2004
Baja, Hungary

Above is the street leading to the Petofi Island in Baja, Hungary the SOZO festival 2004. These pages will tell you a little about my experiences at this Music and Arts festival.

This was my first year to be a part of the festival. I arrived not knowing anyone and left a week later with dozens of new friends from all around the world. I'm especially grateful to Peter, Daniel, and the others from Baja who made me feel so welcome in their town. Also to all my new friends from around the world. It was great working with you! It truly was a great festival. I hope to work with you all again in the future.
Brad with Randy Morgan, founder of SOZO.

My involvement with SOZO began a few months before the festival when I contacted Randy Morgan, the founder of SOZO. A mutual friend had suggested I would be interested in the work Randy was doing (thanks Mike!!). Randy invited me to come and be a part of the production team for this year's festival. I was able to be there and as a volunteer, I assisted with load-in, strike, and was part of the video and production crew throughout the festival.

SOZO's mission is unification through Jesus Christ. It is a festival that brings Christians from Eastern Europe and the world together. Together they come to worship without regard to nationality, race, or denomination. I was especially moved by the many periods of worship. It was so incredible hearing a thousand people singing praise to God ... songs I knew, but in languages I had never heard ... very beautiful. Just a taste of what Heaven will be like.
Classes are also held to equip participants to use their artistic gifts or talents to take the message of unity in Christ.
At night concerts were held which were open to the public. There was a great turnout from the locals. One of the many groups that performed at the festival was C-Project. C-Project is Eddie and TsG who are musicians/DJs from Bulgaria. Visit their website at www.c-project.org.
Tami(center), the program director did a marvelous job of keeping everything going. How she remained so calm as she did her job, I don't know!
Marko, Daniel, Knarik, Roxi, Maya, and Daniel, were this years participants in the 8 week leadership Intensive. They worked hard with Randy and Tammy to make the festival a great success.
